Prayer Lesson

Many books have been written about prayer; however, this snippet serves only as a reminder of just a few simple truths regarding prayer.

This is what Jesus taught his disciples about prayer in Matthew 7, “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for…” So whenever we pray, we should pray persistenly, expecting our prayers to be answered.

George Muller, a German evangelist, is known to have had thousands of prayers answered during his lifetime. Mr. Muller once made this enlightening statement, “Expect great things from God, and great things you will have." So whenever we pray, we should expect great things - awesome things.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, said this about prayer in his epistle, “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” (James 5:16)

Based on what Jesus and other men of God taught us, we should persistently keep on asking until our prayers are answered, expecting great things from an omnipotent God; and, equally important, our prayers should be fervent, not passive. To put it simply, pray like you mean it!.
